KR Girish is a highly experienced tax professional with over 35 years’ experience in the tax and regulatory field. He has worked in various positions at globally renowned corporations, including as Senior Tax Partner and National Head of Tax Litigation and Disputes Resolution Practice at KPMG. He has also served as the President of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce and is currently the Chairperson of the Finance Committee of the Chamber. KR now runs his own practice, KR Girish and Associates, specialising in matters of direct tax, M&A, business restructuring and regulatory issues. His experience spans widely in the tax field and he has worked extensively in valuation, finance and business due diligence, transfer pricing and international tax, representing clients before Tax Appellate Forums and Tax Tribunals.

Beyond his corporate work, KR is also a prolific writer with over 250 articles on taxation published in numerous professional journals, with a regular column in Business Insider. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and was recently awarded by an international jury for his research paper on the Limitation of Benefits Clause – the India Experience, published by the International Tax Research Analysis Foundation.
