Self Assessment reactivations via the ADL - important reminder

From 1 October 2025, agents who need to reactivate a client's Self Assessment (SA) account can do so by calling the Agent Dedicated Line, by selecting option 2, followed by SA reactivations when prompted.
HMRC have been in touch to let us know that they are seeing a significant proportion of agents still using the Self-Assessment (SA) reactivation option on the Agent Dedicated Line (ADL) (Self Assessment or PAYE for individuals) for general SA queries.
HMRC have asked us to send out a reminder that other SA queries cannot be dealt with via this option and it is not possible for HMRC to redirect the agent.
