Importers: DEFRA webinars on Sanitary and Phytosanitary import controls following Border Target Operating Model future changes
Following publication of the Border Target Operating Model (BTOM), the CIOT has been informed that Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) are running several sector specific online training sessions to prepare businesses for the new Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) import controls (certification and border checks), that may be of interest to businesses in these sectors or their customs advisers.
There is also a session that looks at Irish exports shipped to Great Britain, as from January 2024, certification and pre-notification requirements are being introduced for traders who export to GB from Ireland. These changes will impact the GB importing business too.
