HMRC’s Mid Sized Business Customer Support
Information on the support HMRC’s Mid Sized Business Customer Support Team can offer mid-sized businesses and how to access the support is on GOV.UK.
This includes providing a temporary Customer Compliance Manager (tCCM) in certain circumstances. The tCCM will act as a direct contact to HMRC and their specialists to help you with tax issues that are affecting your business.
Support is accessed online from the GOV.UK page Get help with a tax issue as a mid sized business, via the Government Gateway. HMRC have advised us that the online portal will now:
- Accept up to 10 x 15MB (or less) attachments in a commonly used format, such as PDF, JPEG or DOCX,
- Sign you up to the email protocol,
- Allow a business to submit an agent authority as part of the submission, and
The information submitted through the portal goes directly to the MSB Customer Support Team.
HMRC will also accept any Corporation Tax voluntary disclosures though this route.
Any agent with a Government Gateway ID, regardless of the size of the agent, can access the system using their own Government Gateway ID and seek support for a mid sized business client by entering their client’s UTR and other details once inside the system, provided their query does not relate to one for which there is already another dedicated team within HMRC that they can contact.
