HMRC One to Many letter – invitation to a discussion with Customer Compliance Managers prior to tax return submission

HMRC’s Wealthy Team have advised us that they have commenced a One-to-Many letter campaign directed at just under 1,000 taxpayers identified as having complex tax affairs. The letter sending process commenced in September and is inviting recipients to a voluntary call with an HMRC Customer Compliance Manager (CCM) prior to submitting their tax returns. This is a continuation of a similar exercise last year, which is aimed at discussing any potential issues within their tax returns, reducing errors and minimising the need for compliance checks later on. Recipients of the letter are not obliged to take up the offer and will not prejudice themselves by choosing not to do so. A copy of the letter is provided below.
