Customs: Import/export between Great Britain and Northern Ireland - User Research for the Trader Support Service (TSS)

The Joint Customs Consultative Committee has notified its members about a new user research project to consider whether a MS Excel/CSV upload function for the Trader Support Service (TSS) is required, and HMRC invite interested agents or businesses to contact them per below. The TSS is a free service that assists businesses with the changes in customs procedures when goods move in and out of Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework.

Message from HMRC:

Ahead of the Import Control System 2 (ICS2) deployment window for RoRo (roll on roll off) movements closing on 1 September, HMRC has heard business express the wish for TSS to offer an Excel/ CSV upload functionality to assist with the volume of information that may be required pre-movement. HMRC/ TSS are looking to conduct user research to understand more about the functionality that industry wants, and how feasible this is to deliver.
