CIOT shortlisted for Taxation Awards
The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) is delighted to have been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to Taxation in 2022-23 by a Not-for-profit Organisation, in the annual Tolley’s Taxation Awards.
The CIOT has been nominated for the award after a successful 2022-23, which included the creation and launch of a new ‘Diploma in Tax Technology’ (DITT) in response to the increasing importance of technology in tax, working with HMRC to tackle problems with tax refund companies through our Low Incomes Tax Reform Group (LITRG) and leading efforts to improve HMRC service levels.
Ritchie Tout, Vice Chair of the CIOT’s Welsh Taxes technical sub-committee, and CIOT past president Bill Dodwell have also both been shortlisted in the award for Outstanding Contribution to Taxation in 2022-23 by an Individual.
The winners will be decided by a public vote and announced at a ceremony at the Royal Lancaster in London on 18 May.
Helen Whiteman, CIOT chief executive, said:
“These awards are prestigious within the world of tax and the bar has been set high this year with a very strong shortlist. I’m delighted that CIOT has made the final seven, which is reward for all the hard work the team has put in over the last year.
“Congratulations also to Ritchie and Bill, who will be facing off for the individual award. We wish them both the best of luck.”
