Your learning will cover in detail the Chinese tax system, with particular emphasis on Individual Income Tax, Enterprise Income Tax, and inbound and outbound investment taxes.",["421"],[],[],[],"

Who is it for?

The China option module is aimed at professionals around the world, particularly to tax advisers, lawyers, inhouse tax professionals and those advising or working with multinational corporations. ADIT is suitable for senior level professionals, managers or those working towards a senior level.

What does it cover?

The exam consists of three parts. Part A consists of two mandatory questions worth 25 marks each. Part B consists of two questions worth 20 marks each, of which candidates are required to answer one. Part C consists of four questions worth 15 marks each, of which candidates are required to answer any two.

Have I researched different options?

Research course providers before you sign up to a course. You should contact and compare a range of course providers to gain a better understanding of what’s available.

If you have colleagues or friends who have completed the ADIT qualification, or used the same course provider for another qualification, ask them about their experience. It may not be the same for you, but it will help you get an idea of what standard of support you can expect. You can also use the ADIT Professional LinkedIn group to ask people to share their experience.

How experienced are the tutors?

Think carefully about which course provider is best for you. You should research the quality of the course, and experience of the tutors, so that you feel confident you’re getting the best opportunity for success. When you contact course providers, you should ask them about the style, content and success rates of courses, what qualifications the tutors hold, and what their experience is.

You’ll also want to find out their pass rates, information on any guaranteed pass schemes and how many other students will likely be on the course.

Which style of teaching is best for me?

Ask questions about the style and content of courses to get an idea of what to expect. If you have a busy schedule, you may find online learning suits you better because you can slot it around your life, but if you need routine and structure to help you get to grips with the material, classroom learning may be better.

Is it flexible enough for me?

Our routines vary, so it is important to choose a course which suits your lifestyle. It might be that you’re juggling work and childcare, and in need of a flexible course you can pick up whenever you have a quiet 30 minutes. Or you may find you need more structure in your week, so you’d prefer a course with fixed sessions.

What is the online learning platform like?

Technology can vary between courses and, depending on your preferred learning method, some platforms may be better suited to your needs than others. You should ask how interactive the course will be, whether you will get to communicate with other students and how much support you will get from the tutors. To get a feel for the learning environment, you could ask whether you’re able to access or view a demonstration of the platform.

How much will it all cost?

Before you register, you should understand the total costs associated. Ask for a breakdown of the courses fees, and what the payment structure is. Are books and materials provided, or do you need to purchase these separately? Are revision sessions and mock exams included? Does the course offer a pass guarantee?

As students typically pay the ADIT student registration and exam entry fees directly to us, course providers generally do not include these costs within their package.

Our expectations

Course content
\nCourses may be based specifically upon the 2026 edition of the ADIT syllabus, or may simply cover some of the same issues and subjects. While the ADIT syllabus is free for you to download, use and refer to in your courses, we expect you to adhere to all applicable copyright terms in the use of third-party content, including textbooks and online resources.
Student accessibility
\nTo help our students find your course, you should be specific about what type of courses you offer, which modules are taught, and where the courses are delivered. You should provide transparent information about costs and payment options.
Up-to-date information
\nIt’s your responsibility to review and refresh the details we publish online. We can only publish what you give us, so it’s in your interest to review the details annually.
Student support
\nWhile we do not directly supervise courses, we expect you to provide students with a high standard of tuition and support, and to manage any issues or complaints appropriately. Serious complaints about course provider conduct will likely result in removal from the course provider directory.
Our student relationship agreement
\nAll students are responsible for registering and entering for exams directly with us. You are not able to offer these services as part of your fee package, as part of the independence we maintain from course providers.
Data protection
\nWe don’t share any personal information on our students with course providers, and we won’t discuss any aspects of their records with you. It’s their responsibility to get in touch with us if there are any issues that we should be aware of.
Brand guidelines
\nIf you become an ADIT course provider, you will be required to comply with our brand identity guidelines when you’re promoting the courses, and using our logo and materials.

Recognition as an ADIT course provider is at the discretion of the CIOT, and failure to meet our expectations may result in removal from the course provider directory.

You should refer to these past papers, suggested solutions and candidates’ answers when you prepare for each exam, as these will give you an idea of the types of questions that you are likely to face in your exam and the standard of answer required.

The candidate script examples are intended to provide an idea of the standard and length of answers required to achieve a pass, and have been chosen from candidates who have achieved a reasonable standard in the examinations. The intention is to demonstrate what is expected of a well-prepared student, and the scripts do not necessarily represent comprehensive answers to the questions. When reviewing the scripts, please bear in mind that marks are not shown and the answers cannot be relied on for their technical content.

Please note: we are not processing any student registration fee payments from Russia or Belarus, or facilitating any ADIT student registrations in Russia or Belarus, at the present time due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Before you get started...

What you need to know

The registration form will take around 10 minutes to complete; you can download our step-by-step guide
You will be asked to provide personal information including your contact details and your qualification history
You must pay the student registration fee to complete your application, unless you choose to have your employer invoiced
From 1 January 2025, in order to be eligible to pursue the ADIT qualification, you must be based in an eligible country or territory; if you are not based in an eligible country, your registration application will be rejected
If you are based in a jurisdiction in which foreign currency limits prevent payment of the student registration fee, we will not be able to accept your application to register as an ADIT student while such restrictions are in place
The minimum age to register as an ADIT student is 18
You cannot enter to sit exams before your application has been processed
It may take up to 10 business days for your application to be processed by our Education Team
If you register as a student fewer than 10 business days before an exam entry deadline, you will not be permitted to enter for that exam session

Payment methods

We accept the following:

You can also choose to have your employer invoiced for student registration and exam entry fees.

If you cannot pay using any of these options (for example, if you cannot pay via credit/debit card or employer invoice), you will need to email us and request an alternative method.

Employer invoices

If you choose to have your employer invoiced, an invoice will be issued using the employer details which you provide in the form.

Employer invoicing for ADIT student registrations can take a number of weeks at peak periods. If your employer has not yet received the invoice, this will not affect your ADIT student status or exam eligibility.

The invoice must be paid within 30 days of receipt. Most employers make the payment by bank transfer. Failure to pay the invoice in a timely manner may result in your application being rejected or placed on hold.

It is not possible to pay an invoice online once you have made an application. If you have a query relating to employer invoicing, please email our Finance Team.

Cooling off period

If your situation changes after you have completed your ADIT student registration application and you are no longer able to pursue the qualification, you may cancel your ADIT registration within one month of the date you submitted your application. You will be refunded via your payment method, minus a £15 administration fee.

To cancel your registration, you must inform us in writing.
