CIOT and ATT Aberdeen Branch

I am currently the Aberdeen Branch ATT Representative. I became involved with the CIOT whilst studying towards my ATT and CTA exams, to connect with the tax community in Aberdeen and help organise local events. I work in the private client team at MacRoberts, advising individuals on income and capital taxes, inheritance tax planning and trusts.

I am an Associate Director in Deloitte’s Aberdeen office. I specialise in tax advisory projects, mainly M&A work and transfer pricing. I lead Deloitte’s transfer pricing practice in Scotland. I chair the committee that organises our local events (when they can happen in a post covid world!). I volunteer because I enjoy being part of the CIOT/ATT community in Aberdeen, as it’s a close knit group of like-minded tax professionals eager to learn and socialise.

Working in Industry in the Oil and Gas sector, I have several years’ experience in both overseas and local jurisdictions. Specialising in both Indirect and Direct Taxes I have a broad knowledge which I enjoy sharing with my peers. I also enjoy mentoring the junior members of the Worley team. Having held a number of Board positions I have strived to ensure compliance in the UK, Norway and Africa. Having travelled to a host of African countries (Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana & Nigeria to name a few) in the course of my work, I am a respected member of my team. Away from work, I enjoy time with my family, attending gigs (having an eclectic love from Rock n Roll to Americana), knitting, caring for animals. I joined the network in Aberdeen to assist in the social side and also to share my love of knowledge sharing.
