Tax Partner - Grant Thornton

Having previously worked as an audit supervisor, post ACCA-qualification, in 1999, Daniel moved into tax, first joining Bentley Jennison and obtaining his CTA qualification. Following a 2001 move to Grant Thornton’s Birmingham office, he gradually ascended from Tax Senior to Tax Partner, covering corporate and private client tax, including a stint in the firm’s National Tax Office, providing training, technical support on complex issues, and working with counsel on bespoke tax solutions. Returning to Birmingham in 2005, he made Partner aged 33 in 2008, heading up the Entrepreneurial and Private Client team, delivering commercial and practical tax solutions to clients across a number of jurisdictions.

Key achievements

  • Since 2003 Daniel has made a huge contribution to the growth of Grant Thornton’s private client team in Birmingham, which has grown over eight years from four people to 15 people, winning the LexisNexis Taxation Best High Net Worth Team award in 2007, as a single offi ce team on the way, despite stiff competition.
  • He has developed a reputation as a trusted adviser to a range of wealthy clients and private companies with complex, often multijurisdictional and multi-tax issues, providing clear, creative and commercial advice to help them meet their personal and business objectives.
