Unique and efficient route for tax professionals
For those taking the Taxation of Major Corporates specialism, there are changes from 2018.
ICAEW and the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) have created a Joint Programme which enables students to achieve two prestigious qualifications – the ACA and CTA.
The ACA CTA Joint Programme enables students to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser in three to four years providing they have undertaken relevant professional work experience.
It has been designed specifically for students who want to specialise in tax. The programme offers three routes through which students can either specialise, from the start of their training, in the tax affairs of large corporates (FTSE 350 companies), Owner-Managed Businesses, or in Indirect Tax, from the start of their training.
"KPMG tax consultant, Nika Nykyforova is the first person in Jersey to pass the Joint CIOT and ICAEW Programme’s Taxation of Major Corporates (TOMC) paper, which she sat in November 2014. Nika discovered the Joint Programme by visiting the CIOT and ICAEW websites after having heard that it was being introduced last year."
"PwC tax associate, Kyran Thomas is the first person to pass the Joint CIOT and ICAEW Programme’s Taxation of Major Corporates (TOMC) paper, which he sat in July 2014."
To be eligible to sit in the CTA examinations in either May or November, please see the Key Dates and Deadlines for important deadlines.
Students individual results will be sent directly to the students, however if the firm would like to receive the results as well we will require signed permission or confirmation that the permission clause is imbedded in their contract that the student allows their results to be sent to their employer as well.
