Mark Webb was called to the Bar in October 1998 and qualified as a CTA in 2001. His clients range across the property, financial service and media sectors. Mark provides commercially focused advice on set up, structuring and ongoing compliance matters. Mark has also been the key adviser on a range of complex transactions including acquisitions, disposals and MBOs, advising companies, their owners and private equity houses on tax issues around financing, structuring, goodwill write-off and entrepreneurs’ relief. He chairs the firm’s property group and is a member of the media sector group.

Key achievements

Chairing the firm’s property group; driving an increase in property contacts from 2,500 to 5,000+ in his 12 months of chairmanship. Success can be measured over this period by revenues holding up despite market downturn.

  • Recently engaged by a client on Monday, selling his business the following Tuesday. Over this narrow timeframe Mark delivered and oversaw corporate tax planning advice including issuing share options, advice re entrepreneurs’ relief and inheritance tax planning. Even with little time Mark’s team ensured that the company owner and management were not dual-taxed on proceeds by share option planning.
