Catherine has specialised in taxation since qualifying as a CTA in 1998. She is a Director within the Scottish practice based principally in the Glasgow office. Her expertise covers both corporate and personal taxation matters. Catherine also has experience in providing tax planning advice to companies and individuals across a broad range of sectors.

Examples of work undertaken include planning to minimise tax payable, tax-efficient company restructuring, company and asset disposals including, in particular, advice on capital gains tax, inheritance tax planning and exit strategies. Catherine also speaks at seminars, both internally and externally, on current tax issues.

Key achievements

Achieving director status with one of the UK’s leading firms of accountants and business advisers. Catherine also took over the daily management of a full tax team and responsibility for a localised budget of over £1m.
