Tax Education Zone at IFA London 2019

The CIOT is excited to be hosting a Tax Education Zone at the 73rd International Fiscal Association (IFA) Annual Congress in London from 8 to 12 September 2019.

The Tax Education Zone will showcase the wide range of tax learning programmes within the UK, representing academic institutions, professional training providers and non-profit enterprises dedicated to developing tax knowledge and securing the next generation of tax leaders.

The IFA Annual Congress is regarded as one of the most important gatherings of leading practitioners, decision-makers and thought leaders in the international tax calendar, attracting delegates from governments, the legal and accounting sectors, industry and academia. This year’s Congress will include seminars on topics ranging from interest deductibility in a post-BEPS environment, to indirect taxation and financial services, to comparative experiences of country by country reporting and enhanced co-operation.

Headlining the Tax Education Zone will be our own benchmark in international tax, ADIT. Delegates from around the world will learn about the ways in which their colleagues and organisations can benefit from the international tax knowledge and expertise that comes from ADIT certification.

A number of leading UK universities and professional training providers also offer specialist tax programmes, many of which complement ADIT certification, and the Tax Education Zone will feature exhibits from the University of Oxford, the University of Exeter, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London and Tolley Exam Training.

Providing tax education is also a key pillar of the crucial work undertaken by charities which advise, and campaign on behalf of, underrepresented and disadvantaged groups, and we will welcome both LITRG and TaxAid to the Tax Education Zone, enabling delegates to learn about the activities of both charities and their important roles in improving tax fairness and understanding.
