The CIOT hosted the Tax Education Zone at the 73rd International Fiscal Association (IFA) Annual Congress in London, from 8 to 12 September 2019.
The Tax Education Zone showcased the wide range of tax learning programmes across the UK, with academic institutions, professional training providers and non-profit enterprises dedicated to developing tax knowledge included in the line-up.
Leading the Tax Education Zone was our own international tax credential, ADIT, which has been a regular fixture at IFA events since 2010. The Congress in London had a particularly global delegation, and awareness of ADIT was high, as delegates recognised the value of ADIT certification within the international tax profession.
A number of leading UK universities and professional training providers offering specialist tax programmes, all of which complement ADIT certification, were present in the Tax Education Zone. This included the University of Oxford, the University of Exeter, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London and Tolley Exam Training.
Both LITRG (part of the CIOT) and TaxAid also exhibited in the Tax Education Zone, raising awareness of the crucial work undertaken to advise, and educate on behalf of, underrepresented and disadvantaged groups within the UK.
For those readers who attended IFA 2019 London, we hope you enjoyed the Congress as well as the accompanying social events, and that you were able to visit the Tax Education Zone and find out more about the exceptional level of tax learning programmes within the UK!
