Approximately 100 international tax professionals from around the world gathered for the inaugural ADIT Conference on Friday 13 September, at the beautiful Ironmongers’ Hall in central London.
Chaired by CIOT President Glyn Fullelove, the Conference showcased a range of topical international tax subjects, with discussions led by experts from around the world. Among the issues addressed by the Conference were the tax implications of the digital economy, the impact of the UN sustainable development goals on the practice of tax, and the pursuit of best practice among tax administrations.
Our all-star speaker line-up featured ADIT Academic Board members Prof. Diane Ring, Jim Robertson, Dr Partho Shome and Jeff VanderWolk, as well as Heather Self CTA(Fellow), Sir Edward Troup CTA(Fellow) and a number of other senior tax leaders from government, law and accountancy firms and the corporate sector. The action-packed agenda also included two panel discussions featuring representatives from the OECD and the International Tax Research and Analysis Foundation (ITRAF), on the topics of the Multilateral Instrument (MLI) and the psychology of international taxation, respectively.
The Conference concluded with a presentation from the ADIT team, in which a number of exciting improvements to the ADIT Affiliate subscription package were unveiled. The new Affiliate package will be introduced on 1 January 2020, and more information about the new benefits and opportunities available to Affiliates can be found at www.adit.org/affiliate.
