We know you’re keen to find out about the December 2020 exams, and how we will ensure that ADIT students can sit exams as COVID-19 continues to disrupt countries around the world. We have been working hard to make sure the exams are able to go ahead safely, even if local lockdowns or social distancing measures are put in place.
The following announcement about the December 2020 exams was emailed to exam candidates on Thursday 30 July 2020.
We are pleased to announce the changes we are making to protect the health and wellbeing of our students, partners and colleagues.
How will the December exams run?
All December exams will be held online, using either your laptop or desktop computer, which means that unfortunately we will not be able to offer you the option to handwrite your exam. We listened to the feedback from our recent survey of candidates who have chosen to handwrite their ADIT exams, and we will be providing more support to help you with this transition.
Sitting exams remotely
Exam centres will not be used in December, and exams will now be sat remotely. This means you can sit your exam at the location of your choice: at home, or in your office. This flexibility will give you more control over your exam day, allowing you to use a desktop PC if you do not have access to a laptop, making online exams more accessible than ever before.
You will use the Exam4 software that thousands of ADIT candidates have been using to type their exams since 2014. It has a proven track record for simplicity, reliability and student satisfaction.
Detailed guidance on downloading and running Exam4, and completing practice exams, will be available soon, to help you get the most from your Exam4 experience.
Exams will remain closed-book. So, you can only use the permitted texts for that module in the exam. While exams will be unsupervised, we reserve the right to use anti-plagiarism software to prevent malpractice and ensure that the exams remain fair to all students.
More guidance on preventing malpractice will be sent to you shortly, to give you a clear understanding of what this means for you and how we will maintain the high standard you have come to expect from the ADIT exams.
Flexible deferral policy
We recognise that, while COVID-19 persists, you deserve more flexibility to help you manage your studies during these very changeable times. For the December 2020 session, we are giving candidates up to 48 hours before the exam to defer to June 2021. Find out more about our new deferral policy.
What will happen next?
Over the next few months we will email you more guidance about how the exams will be conducted as exam day approaches, including choosing your exam room, how to download and run Exam4, how to complete a practice exam, and exam day procedures. We’re committed to ensuring you feel supported and confident in the December exam processes.
While our office is closed and we’re working remotely, please email us at education [at] adit.org if you have any questions about the December exams. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Good luck with your studies!
