Benefits of becoming an Affiliate

Being an Affiliate of the CIOT entitles you to a number of valuable benefits, all contributing to increase your global recognition.

Enhancing your professional identity

As an Affiliate, you have the right to describe yourself as an 'International Tax Affiliate of The Chartered Institute of Taxation,' along with acquiring the status and esteem attached to affiliation with a premier professional body concerned solely with taxation. Your international tax expertise will be communicated to a global audience via the CIOT's online 'Find an Affiliate' directory, and you will receive a certificate in recognition of your status as an International Tax Affiliate.

Opportunities to influence and contribute

Increase your professional recognition and influence by contributing articles* to the monthly and online journal Tax Adviser and the online ADIT Voice digest, or apply to become a virtual member of the CIOT Technical Committee's various Sub-Committees. The CIOT is a member of the Confederation Fiscale Europeenne (CFE) which also has a cooperative relationship with the Asia-Oceania Tax Consultants' Association (AOTCA).

Access to resources

Every Affiliate is entitled to a number of publications, including Tax Adviser, ADIT Voice, CCH weekly e-mail news services, and a copy of the annual UK Finance Act. Affiliates also enjoy access to the Tony Arnold Library at King's College in London, and a 20% discount on Taxsutra subscription at www.taxsutra.com.

Networking with like-minded professionals

As an Affiliate, you can join one of our global branches including Asia-Pacific, Australasia, Europe, Hong Kong, Middle East & North Africa, and North America as well as a UK branch, giving you access to technical and social activities with like-minded professionals, and discounted entry to a range of events.

Maintaining standards

Being an Affiliate promotes a standard of ethics and practical guidelines that every Affiliate upholds. CPD/CPE opportunities keep you up to date and current with international taxation issues.
