Being a working parent can be even tougher. But most parents have little choice these days (as to whether or not they work) and this Government has much heralded policies to help them.

So we have tax credits which are more generous if you are working and have children, and from 6 April 2005 improved tax reliefs for employer-provided childcare. But life can get complicated, as this article will show, and some of the Revenue’s own guidance is not helpful.
