As a professional indemnity lawyer specialising in tax-related claims against lawyers, accountants and tax advisers, the author has seen an increase in such claims in recent years. In this article she discusses common causes of claims in this field and where she believes claims may arise in the future, then looks briefly at the risk management steps that can be taken to reduce the likelihood of claims arising in the future.
