Employers’ PAYE/NIC for 2013/14 to a single HMRC bank account
HMRC have confirmed that the bank account details for employers paying their PAYE/NIC for 2013/14 are changing. In future HMRC will use a single bank account. This change only affects employers that currently make their payments using the Accounts Office Shipley bank account details. These employers will use the Accounts Office Cumbernauld details from month 01 of the 2013-14 tax year.
This change is being notified to employers who pay electronically via the annual bulk issue of the PAYE stationery and will apply to payments due for month 1 of 2013/14 onwards.
This will apply to employers who make a payment to HMRC by:
- Bacs Direct Credit
- Faster Payments by online/telephone banking
In response to a query from the CIOT, HMRC have confirmed that any PAYE/NIC payments for 2012/13 should still be paid to the Shipley account, which will remain open.
HMRC have published a What’s New message regarding this at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/news/index.htm
