HMRC Online Service downtime update

The scheduled upgrade of HMRC’s online services will take place in stages across 6 days, from 9pm Thursday 5 April until Wednesday 11 April. Please note that online service availability will vary across this period for the different services – 5 April start date does not apply to all online services. Further information and full details of all the scheduled IT updates can be found here.

  • PAYE: HMRC’s recent PAYE update details the full PAYE online service downtime from 3 April to 13 April, including the effects or any exceptions.
  • VAT: The VAT downtime will only be from 08.00 on Sunday 8 April until 06.00 on Wednesday 11 April, to avoid the 7 April filing deadline.
