HMRC PAYE update (EoY reconciliations, Basic PAYE Tools, service delivery joint initiative and Company car tax)
HMRC have provided a further informal update on PAYE related matters for sharing. The update covers End of Year reconciliations, Basic PAYE Tools, a joint initiative on HMRC service delivery and Company car tax.
START OF HMRC UPDATE
End of Year Reconciliation
The attached briefing note explains our plans for End of Year Reconciliation (EoYR) for 2011-12. We’re pleased to say that this process is starting earlier this year – once we have received (and processed) a sufficient number of Employer Annual Returns.
HMRC's Basic PAYE Tools
The latest version of HMRC's Basic PAYE Tools to help employers run their payroll systems is now available. If you have downloaded an earlier version of the tools and left the default setting to ‘update automatically the next time you open the tools you’ll receive an update. You can check for the latest updates by selecting the ‘options button’ at the top of the Basic PAYE Tools homepage, then select the 'Automatic update settings' tab.
Joint initiative on HMRC service delivery
Read a further update on the joint initiative between HM Revenue & Customs and key stakeholders regarding service delivery.
Company car tax – security enhanced cars
Employers calculating the car benefit charge for 2011-12 can exclude the cost of certain security enhancements where they were provided to individuals who can demonstrate that the nature of their employment creates a threat to their personal security.
