Faster Payments to HMRC
HMRC have confirmed that payments can now be made to HMRC using the Faster Payments Service (FPS). This will allow taxpayers, whose banks operate the FPS, to make faster electronic payments, typically via internet or telephone banking. Such payments are usually processed on the same or next day.
The CIOT and other professional bodies have for some time been asking HMRC to start accepting Faster Payments.
