Problems opening HMRC CT tax return software

We understand that some members have been having problems opening HMRC’s own online CT software, once it has been downloaded. This may be due to settings on your computer being incompatible with the HMRC software, which is an Adobe package.

HMRC’s website includes some guidance on how to change your Adobe software settings at: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ct/ct-online/file-return/online.htm#4.

If this does not solve your particular problem then you should contact the HMRC online services helpdesk – contact details are at:
https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/information/helpdesk#onlineServices .

If the issue cannot be resolved then you should be provided with an EARS number (an internal HMRC reference number under which the issue is logged). If you are unable to file online then you can email their dedicated iXBRL team Marketing.online@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk to discuss your alternatives.

If your issues remain unresolved then do let us know at technical@tax.org.uk
