Admission to membership of the Chartered Institute of Taxation requires success in the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) examination held every May and November, together with the ability to demonstrate three years’ relevant recent professional experience.

The Chartered Institute of Taxation is the leading professional body in the United Kingdom concerned solely with taxation.

If you are interested in attaining the CTA via the Indirect Tax route, some changes have been made as a result of the CIOT's merger with the Institute of Indirect Taxation, and these apply from the May 2013 examination onwards.
