The South Wales Branch of the CIOT and ATT has been in existence now for 45 years.  

Members and non-members are welcome to join us.

Meet the South Wales Branch Committee

Ritchie Tout

Ritchie is a Director in the tax team at Mazars Central Region specialising in all share-related and employee reward matters but with a broad background in all aspects of owner managed business taxation. Ritchie is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and is chair of the South Wales branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Ritchie has a worked on a wide variety of engagements for privately owned and venture capital/private equity backed businesses focusing on reward structures, employee benefit trusts and CGT planning as well as broader exit planning for employee shareholders. In this area, Ritchie tends to be involved in the more complex and bespoke employee incentive arrangements with a key requirement typically being to balance the cost of employee reward and the creation of shareholder value.

Lakshmi Narain

Lakshmi Narain is the Chair of the CIOT Welsh Technical Committee. Over forty years of experience in tax as a member of the CIOT and the ICAEW with periods in academia (the LSE, Bournemouth University and Thames Valley) and in the profession with Deloitte, RSM and Mazars. Lakshmi has been actively involved in the CIOT over the entire period in various technical functions, publications and Branch activities. Lakshmi has been a South Wales Branch committee member since moving to Wales in 2015 and was Chair of the Branch from 2016 to 2019. The Branch has been extensively involved in constructively contributing to the devolution of LTT and LDT and the partial devolution of Income Tax to Wales and works closely with all the other major professional bodies and Academia (Cardiff, Swansea and Bangor University) – an exciting time to be involved in South Wales Branch matters.

Jane Mellor

Jane Mellor is a Professional Standards Manager at the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Association of Taxation Technicians. Jane is ATT and CTA qualified and before joining the staff of the CIOT/ATT, she worked as a personal tax manager in a firm of Chartered Accountants in South Wales.
