Welcome to the Merseyside Branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Association of Taxation Technicians

Welcome from your Branch Chair, Mark Kearsley 

We are a very active Branch with a strong CPD programme which runs from September to June every year. We welcome both nationally recognised tax commentators and barristers, as well as local tax specialists who kindly show us continued support each year. 

We cover a range of topics, relevant to many different practice areas, and there is something for everyone in the programme.

Meet the Merseyside Branch Committee

Mark Kearsley

Merseyside Branch Chair

Rob Adams

I am a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser. I have worked in Liverpool for my entire career and specialise in proving tax advice to private businesses and their shareholders. I joined the committee in 2010 and was chair between 2014 and 2017.

Rob Hackney

After over ten years working at EY in Manchester, in 2020 I joined DSG Chartered Accountants in Liverpool where I work as a Manager in our tax team. As a member of both ICAS and CIOT, I focus in particular on working with our corporate clients, both OMBs and larger groups, including several that are multinational and/or listed. I have a particular interest in technology aspects and creative industry tax reliefs, with client work ranging from routine annual compliance and tax accounting through to complex tax planning and transactional work.
