Setting up your Tax Practice

Working as a self-employed Chartered Tax Adviser may benefit those who have a number of personal commitments as it allows you more freedom in your work schedule and the opportunity to take on less work if you are busy. Many of the Institute's 16,000 members are self-employed.

Self-employed members are required to register with a supervisory body for Anti-Money Laundering, take out appropriate Professional Indemnity Insurance cover and appoint an alternate. Further details can be found in the Professional Standards section of this website.

Self-employed members may also use the Institute's badge on their stationery and website.
