CIOT/IFS Debate - The Future of Tax Simplification

RSA House, 8 John Adam Street, WC2N 6EZ
Monday, June 12, 2017 -
6:00pm to 9:15pm

In July 2010 the newly elected coalition government created an Office of Tax Simplification and appointed John Whiting, then CIOT tax policy director, as its first tax director.

Seven years on, following his departure from the OTS, John will draw on his experience with the OTS to reflect on the prospects for tax simplification. What has worked, what hasn't and what lessons can be drawn for the future?

Please join for the latest in a series of lectures and debates being organised by the CIOT and the IFS to promote debate among policy-makers, opinion-formers and the wider tax and economics communities on the future of the UK and international tax systems
