John Whiting discussing foreign branches on Newsnight tonight

The debate around foreign branch exemptions (also known, to George Monbiot, as the 'heist of the century') moves onto TV this evening, with a Newsnight feature on the issue. CIOT Tax Policy Director John Whiting will be one of those featuring.

Monbiot's take has been challenged by a number of tax professionals, including Max Teuerman on Lib Dem Voice and CIOT Technical Committee Vice-Chair Bill Dodwell on this blog. The original Treasury material for the consultation which closed 10 days ago can be read here.
