The Chartered Institute of Taxation, the principal body in the United Kingdom concerned solely with taxation, announced today the results from the first sitting of its Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) examinations held on 25 and 26 May 2004. Tim Ambrose, the immediate past CIOT President and Chairman of the ADIT Committee, commenting on the results said:

“We were very encouraged by the number and calibre of the candidates who attempted the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation at its first sitting. I congratulate all those who have been successful, and particularly those who are now the first holders of the ADIT qualification.

“The ADIT is a demanding and quality qualification. We intend it to be a common standard of excellence for international tax practitioners wherever they are based and whatever their particular area of practice. We anticipate that the ADIT will grow in recognition around the world and become sought by all advisers in international taxation.”
