An indispensable CD–Rom guide for tax advisers setting up new practices has been produced by The Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). The guide aims to show tax advisers how they can establish a successful business to the highest professional standard.
Tim Ambrose, President of the CIOT, said:
“Setting up in business is a daunting task. Through this guide we hope to ease the pressure of establishing a new practice by passing on the experience of Gerry Hart and Chris Jones.”
The guide covers key issues in establishing a practice along with helpful advice on marketing, recruitment and best practice through quality controls. Guidance is delivered in a series of audio-visual lectures accompanied by a set of notes on each topic.
The CD-Rom is straightforward and easy to use: lectures are read directly from the CD-Rom and the accompanying notes can be printed off. Lectures cover issues such as ‘Quoting for work and setting fee budgets’; ‘Letters of engagement’ and ‘Staff motivation and remuneration’. We hope that all small practitioners will find the CD-Rom beneficial to the success of their businesses. The CD-Rom is available at no cost to members of the CIOT and to non-members of the CIOT for £40+VAT. For more information and to order a CD-Rom, please contact Phillip Pearson, Head of Membership at the Chartered Institute of Taxation on 020 7235 9381.
